Zoom Classroom Etiquette

  • Familiarize yourself with the Zoom App before camp begins. There are a number of tutorials on Zoom.us or on Youtube.

  • Create your Zoom profile with your First & Last name, so we can identify you before we let you into the “classroom”.

  • Feel free to add a photo of yourself to your profile, we’d love to see you! :)

  • For best results and a stable connection, use a desktop computer with a wired internet connection. A laptop with a strong Wifi connection is your next best option.

  • If possible, use a headset or headphones.

  • Please find a quiet place free from distraction (siblings, pets, parents, televisions, phones, open apps or web pages on your computer, etc.)

  • Close any unnecessary applications on your computer to help the Zoom app run better.

  • Please show up on time for our scheduled Live Zoom classes. There will be a waiting room before we can let you into the “classroom”

  • Avoid multitasking. You’ll retain the discussion better if you refrain from replying to emails or text messages during camp and wait to work on your project until after class ends.

  • Stay on “MUTE”, please click the “raise hand” button if you would like to contribute.

  • Maintain RESPECT in both speaking, writing and appearance.

  • Join in on the discussions by submitting your questions through the Q&A button at the bottom of your screen. A Designer Camp Counselor will be monitoring your questions.

  • Embrace the moment and the technology to the greatest extent possible. Have fun
