Here at Designer Camp, we know the importance of some good old-fashioned summer fun—but we also know that you’re always looking for ways to further your creativity. That’s why we’re redefining the meaning of a summer camp with a jam-packed digital summer program filled with live and pre recorded workshops with designers, hands-on activations, tours of showrooms and design houses, panel discussions, virtual lunch breaks with fellow Designer Camp campers, and a the option to have your personalized portfolio reviewed with our Designer Camp Team.

As you know, we always bring our A-game but our line-up for this summer is stacked! We will be kicking off each morning with live creative exercises to get you warmed up for the day followed by workshops and tours. At the end of each day, we will keep our creative juices flowing by launching into our design challenge during our (student led) Design Studio Hours.

Tune in from Home

First things first! Each morning of camp you’ll receive an email with your link and password to access the exclusive Digital Designer Camp site. Please note: All content will go live on Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), including the launch of the exclusive Digital Designer Camp site. To find out what time a session is happening in your time zone, use this handy time zone converter.

Designer Camp Digital is made up of pre-recorded video sessions hosted via Vimeo and live video sessions streaming via Zoom. We recommend that you have a strong WiFi connection and find a comfortable place to tune in from home. Designer Camp Digital is optimized for desktop, so it is best viewed via a computer or laptop, rather than a tablet or phone.

While the live content is specifically designed to be watched in real-time, you’ll be able to access and view Digital Designer Camp 101 until Sunday, July 25th.

Please note that all links, passwords and proprietary content is not to be shared. If this is not upheld, admission to future camps will be denied.

THINGS TO PREP AHEAD OF TIME

Here are a few things to prep before the big day, so it goes off without a hitch:

  • All students must review and sign our Designer Camp Digital Code of Conduct & Release Form prior to receiving their digital camp link Monday morning.

  • To help us know how best to support you and your passions for the future, please fill out our Digital Student Pre-Camp Survey.

  • Be sure to gather all of the supplies needed for camp from our Designer Camp Digital Supply List.

  • Install Zoom on your desktop computer or laptop and test it out.

  • Review our Zoom Tips & Etiquette guide below.

  • Print out any worksheets needed each day.

  • Set aside your sketchbook, pencil and daily design supplies so you can be ready to jump into any design challenge or activity.

The Schedule

Designer Camp Digital is built just like our in-person camp, which is non-stop with different workshops every hour. We have a stacked schedule with an A-list line-up of speakers and designers, so we suggest taking notes along the way.

Students are encouraged to follow our daily suggested schedule. All live workshops will be recorded and available to students to watch at their own convenience.
