WINTER CAMP 2017
Designer Camp's first ever WINTER CAMP! Partnering with Varola Gallery at the Pacific Design Center, Designer Camp is perfectly situated amongst LA's hottest design brands and designers. We will be offering one day workshops covering Textile Design, Fashion Sketching, Brand Experience, Jewelry Design, and the Beauty Industry. Students can register for individual days or the entire week at a savings.

December 18-22, 2017 / 9am - 3pm
Join us all week by registering for the entire camp at a discounted rate ($125 savings)! Students will get to experience five one-day design intensives focusing on Textile Design, Fashion Sketching, Art Mural Design, Brand Experience and Beauty Industry. Students will complete a project each day that supports a social good cause.

December 18, 2017 / 9am - 3pm
Textile Design is the process of creating designs for woven, knitted, printed fabrics or surface ornamented fabrics. This one-day design intensive will explore the roles that textile design plays in product design, the fashion industry, and interior design industry. Students will explore the creative process of textiles through a variety of mediums to map concepts for a finished product that they will take home with them. Along with a final project, students will gather inspiration and research through showroom visits and guest speakers.

December 19, 2017 / 9am - 3pm
Fashion sketching is the art of communicating fashion ideas in a visual form that originates with illustration, drawing or painting. Through this one-day design intensive, students will learn how to translate an idea or image into a fashion illustration lead by Gretchen Dawley, a Los Angeles based bridal designer. Along with a finished fashion illustration to take home, students will gather inspiration and research through showroom visits and guest speakers.

December 20, 2017 / 9am - 3pm
A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other permanent surface. Through this one-day design intensive, students will collaborate with a professional mural artist to create a unique piece of art that will collectively be displayed in the Designer Camp Studio Gallery. Along with a final art piece, students will gather inspiration and research through street art and local art murals around the West Hollywood Design District.

December 21, 2017 / 9am - 3pm
Brand experience is defined as sensations, feelings, cognitions, and behavioral responses evoked by a brand's design, identity, packaging, communications, and environments.Through this one-day design intensive, students will be immersed in the behind the scenes process of creating a brand experience. We will be visiting the new Google pop-up shop and Nordstrom Local, the company's latest boutique along with other curated brand experiences in the trendsetting West Hollywood Design District.

The beauty industry generates over a $100 billion annually that is driven by creative design, packaging and marketing. Through this one-day design intensive, students will learn how the beauty industry utilizes design though product, makeup artistry, and scent. We will be taking fields trips to local businesses to learn from the experts, and applying what we have learned back at the Designer Camp Studio.
