Interested in being a Magazine Editor? Sarah Dubbeldam, Editor-in-Chief and founder of Darling will be sharing with our campers about the creative process of a lifestyle magazine!
Darling is an artistic quarterly publication that seeks to broaden the “ideals” of beauty in media by using all sizes of models and becoming the first magazine to not retouch women's bodies or skin in photos.
Sarah is responsible for steering the ship of Darling, for casting the overall vision for each article and photo shoot and making sure all is delegated and executed to the proper departments. She finds her inspiration through people’s stories–the way they wear their hearts on their sleeves and exude passion through their eyes–each displaying a unique beauty that is theirs alone.
Now carried in over 300 retailers in the U.S. and abroad including Anthropologie and Whole Foods, the magazine is also broadening into a social media movement with its encouragement for women to know their true worth. Darling also partners with International Justice Mission by giving proceeds from the magazine to help eradicate sex trafficking in South America.
